1st & 2nd class had a very enjoyable visit to the library. Story teller, Pat Ryan, entertained us with many of his stories. He said he has about 600 stories in his head and he loves sharing them with children and adults. Also he told us riddles which we had to solve! Thank you to Drogheda library for inviting us to the story telling. It was great!
On 1st October 1st & 2nd classes visited the Highlanes Gallery to see the award winning art from the Texaco Art Competition. We were very proud to see Megan’s picture in the exhibition, but a little bit disappointed that Alison’s picture was not on show. Hilary Kelly showed us around the exhibition and then we has an opportunity to create our own works of art! Have a look at some of our pictures on our gallery page. We have been learning about weaving. The visiting teacher is Áine Dunne and each week she shows us a new skill. On the first week we were learning about spinning and she showed us how her spinning wheel works. We learned how to do finger weaving. Next we were shown all about the warp and the weft and we practised doing paper weaving. Our next project is weaving with yarn.We look forward to our classes each week.
